LES MILLS QUALIFICATIONS
Les Mills Qualifications (LMQ) are a brand-new assessment framework to help you become the best version of yourself. They are designed to recognise and reflect your ability as an Instructor and commitment to continuous improvement and provide a personalised development plan based on your strengths. Ultimately, they will enable you to pack your classes and keep teaching for the long term.
The qualifications are all about your strengths in the 5 Key Elements. (Choreography, Technique, Coaching, Connection and Performance). You will receive a grade for each of the 5 Key Elements, and a combination of these will give you an outcome - a level between 1-10
THE WHY
This new system has been designed to recognise your commitment to your craft. It will enable you to achieve your goals as an Instructor and help you advocate for better pay, more work, and more classes at those coveted peak timeslots.
This system has been chosen to mirror the recognition shown to other pursuits, such as learning to play the violin, ballet or martial arts, where grades and belts are indicative of individual skill. Les Mills Qualifications recognise that group fitness instructing is an art, and the levels and grades represent the teacher’s progression towards teaching mastery. As leaders in the education and training of group fitness professionals, this is the next step in the Les Mills gold standard of development and recognition.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE A LEVEL?
You will receive a Grade against each of the 5 Key Elements as part of your initial Training Outcome. You will receive grades and a level as your Certification outcome. When you complete Advanced Training, you can submit for a Grade Review at the end of Training to see how you have developed and applied the learnings. As you develop your skills, you can submit for a Grade Review at any time to receive your current Level and create a new development plan.

HOW DO I DETERMINE MY LEVEL?
There are 2 pathways to each level. Pathway 1 shows the progression through 1 key element being a standout. Pathway 2 shows the progression through all key elements progressively improving together. Both pathways support your development as an Instructor and allow your strengths to shine through. Focus on developing the grades for each key element; the level is simply an outcome.
